Description: The ongoing terrorist activity in my city made me question the given brief of creating a community center. Living through such chaos, I have realized that the demand for security restricts communities’ freedom, which abuses architecture in the process. Thus, I re-contextualized and created an overly protected community center in an overly weaponized environment. The result, despite being uninhabitable, was a critical response to current events, a voice to the unspoken. Rather than merely fulfilling the assignment brief, I aimed to effectively articulate a discussion through a possible phenomenology. I find it essential to create a spatial projection of a manifestation to investigate new perspectives about the conventional.
